		<description>when google africa approached us to help them strengthen the presence of gmail across the continent, it was an exciting opportunity to say the least. we delivered the CHOOSE GMAIL campaign which consisted of colorful and iconic illustrations (with the help of our friends at birdo) that honed in on all that's gmail glorious. combined with a strong call to action that couldn't be missed, they adorned huge billboards in local communities from ghana to nigeria and senegal to kenya, as well as posters, t-shirts, guerilla ads, stickers, banners or the website they linked to. (which you can see here).

		<description> your experiment, 250 miles above earth for the whole world to see. what will you do? i worked with YouTube, the google creative lab EMEA, NASA, ATP, weir+wong and toaster on space lab for 6 months. as ACD/senior writer on the crew, i was charged with developing the voice of a global campaign translated into almost 20 languages. i got goosebumps watching NASA astronauts read our script, while working on a YouTube masthead spot with (so far) over 5 million views, a global Google homepage promo + an entire website with over 10 million hits in week one. not to mention an idea where viewers blast-off into space right from their living rooms via google earth. all teamwork. all the time. all in the name of promoting science to kids. check it out.

 i knew bill. just for a few months while working together, but long enough to call him a friend. we discussed israel a lot since it was around the time of so many suicide bombings there. he didn't get how israelis could live with constant terrorism in their lives and expressed how far america felt from it all. bill weems was plain decent and cool. he was also a passenger on one of the planes steered mercilessly into the twin towers. i created this for him with birdo in brazil as a part of the '9/11. it's been 10 years' initiative by aniboom and gideon amichay. it's for bill's family, for everyone who lost someone and anyone who didn't. individual lives, families and friendships were torn apart that awful day – the scores of murdered innocents don't just make up a meaningless number. i didn't know bill a long time. but I'm glad I met him briefly, i'll never forget him – and he'll always be my friend.

		<description>

 redlight children is a global human rights nonprofit organization aiming to end the demand for child slavery and exploitation. i worked on this with the brand integration group at ogilvy and mather and developed the name and identity with them. the founder, guy jacobson, was traveling in Cambodia in 2002 and was approached by a barrage of young girls as young as five offering themselves for sex. horrified by this encounter and by the lack of action taken to address the problem, he initiated the most comprehensive global mass media campaign ever launched on the issue of human trafficking. and it's still going strong. check it out and help if you can.

		<description>

 to celebrate target's most spectacular sale of the year, they challenged David Blaine, the world’s most famous magician, to get to the 2-day sale at target at 6 a.m. the friday after thanksgiving. but there was a catch. he had to escape a gyroscope suspended by a crane five stories above times square - one that he'd have been spinning on from tuesday. with success came the chance for him to take 100 kids to the sale for the shopping spree of their lives. and success came. i was the associate creative director under a. aranda on this. the team worked with bbdo on the offline components and we created a website complete with a module and videos posted every few hours, a banner campaign and the like.

assignments come and go. you never really know what'll come out of them and this one was a cannes finalist for arnold worldwide. most people had offices at arnold, and with doors closed, well, you never really knew what folks were up to. maybe on the phone, sick, out with a client or enjoying a summer friday. working with l. gislason, we made a bunch of door hangers that lit up the halls. everyone got them. even the cublicle folks got a special magnet so they could hang them up. it was only fair.

i did this with the exceedingly talented mr. magner while at ogilvy &#38; mather on 49th and 8th, NYC. the objective was to highlight that for potential DHL customers, customer service was back in shipping. the brilliant thing was that we got to create non-traditional advertising on one of the largest digital billboards in the world – the reuters building in times square. the resulting executions were a blast to work on as the client gave us a fair amount of independence and showed a lot of trust. we tried to deliver the message in as fun, compelling, and engaging way as we could, creating 5 separate executions. the cherry on top? the reuters building was a 5 minute walk from the office. and we won a bunch of awards. score.
